Lwenshi successfully completed the construction of the Shamikobo community dam supplying water for over 4,000 livestock.
The dam has a 80,396.91 m3 capacity located in semi-arid Chikankata district and was funded by the Kafue Gorge Lower Project CSR. The dam will store water from rainy-season runoff, provide year-round irrigation (10ha), livestock (4000 animals) drinking water, flood control and ground water recharge.
