LWENSHI Limited is a firm that provides core mining services to Mining Industry and combines its services with major construction projects to build or service infrastructure around the mines in support of technology for a Circular Economy in Zambia.

One of the major clients for Lwenshi Limited is an underground mine in Zambia where services provided by Lwenshi Limited supports the Water Recycling Process underground as well as the process plant.

Lwenshi Limited has and continue to provide the following core services:

Constructed a 60, 000 m3 New Site Run off Dam on the surface which harvest rain water for use in the mine both in the process plant and underground.

Upgrades annually, the Tailing Storage Facility (TSF) Dam Embarkment to increase storage of the tailings and extraction of recycled water using the decant facility

Annually desilts the Old Site Run off dam, Raw Water Pond and Process Pond to retain the storage capacity for the recycled water.

Construction of the Underground Mine Clear Water Dam (384m3) which stores clear water pumped from the rock mass at the lower mining areas to upper mining areas after being filtered through the cleaning process done using the settler dam.

The Clear Water is reused for mining activities and other needs underground. This same water is used repeatedly instead of bringing in New water.

If there is more water than needed underground, the excess is pumped to the surface. On the surface this extra water is stored in large Dams referred to as Run off Dams desilted or constructed by Lwenshi Limited. These Dams harvest rainwater too, further increasing water supply for the mine.

This system creates a “closed loop” where water is cleaned , reused, and managed efficiently, reducing the need to take water from natural sources and helping protect the environment.

In performing above tasks , Lwenshi Limited utilises energy efficient equipment with euro II and euro III engines which are environmentally friendly.
